PROINPA IS HEADQUARTERS OF INTERNATIONAL COURSE ON CLIMATE CHANGE

As part of the strategy for updating, training, and motivating human resources, the technical staff of the PROINPA Foundation are participating in the course "Building resilience against climate change in Bolivian agrosystems to improve food security." This course takes place in 2 phases, the first was from January 29 to February 2 and the second phase will be from March 5 to 9 of this year.

The course instructors are international specialists in adaptation to climate change. This course was obtained through a project developed by PROINPA together with Wageningen University to NUFFIC (Holland) that offers funds to strengthen the capacities of institutions, through project competitions.

The main objective is that Bolivian technicians can update, strengthen knowledge and systematize more information on adaptation to climate change to apply it in the activities and projects that are carried out in our country.

With these actions, the Foundation maintains the quality and innovation capacity of its human resources; In addition, PROINPA begins to position itself as a leading entity in the country in adaptation to climate change with small farmers.

Likewise, there is the “Antonio Gandarillas Antezana” award for works related to valley and plain crops; the topics of the theses defended by young people must focus on research that contributes to sustainable agriculture and regenerative agriculture, also relating current agrobiodiversity and climate change.

Submissions will be accepted until August 15th of this year. Theses defended during the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 at any Bolivian public or private university are eligible. The prizes for first, second and third place in both competitions total 18000 Bs. and are supported by Anapo, WWF, Swedish Cooperation, the European Union and Swisscontact.
