At the aforementioned event, representing the PROINPA Foundation, Engineer Cresencio Calle Cruz gave an oral presentation on the topic "Dynamics of Land Use Change in the Southern Altiplano of Bolivia in 30 Years" as part of the Al Invest Verde program.

This major congress allowed for the dissemination of advances in soil science in Latin America and the Caribbean and brought to light the advances and challenges surrounding soil, a resource so important for food security.

Among the conclusions it is noted that threats to soil resources persist, which increase their degradation, such as:

  • Erosion,
  • Loss of organic matter (organic carbon)
  • Loss of biodiversity
  • Metal contamination
  • Improper nutrient management
  • Salinization
  • Desertification and decrease in humidity

At the end of the event, it was agreed that the 25th Latin American Congress of Soil Science will be held in Asunción, Paraguay, in 2027.
